The intelligent Agilent 8850 GC is the smallest and fastest high-performance benchtop gas chromatograph on the market.
Building on the technology of the 6850 and 8890 GCs, the 8850 GC uses the same injectors, detectors, and EPC as the 8890 GC to deliver equivalent analytical results. With a footprint approximately half that of traditional instruments, you can double your productivity: two 8850 GCs can run simultaneously without sacrificing valuable bench space.
Onboard diagnostics, troubleshooting, and easy maintenance help maximize uptime and sample throughput.
The 8850 GC features a compact oven that enables rapid thermal cycling, thanks to its high energy efficiency; it also uses up to 45% less energy than a conventional GC, helping you meet your laboratory's sustainability goals. The system features:
- compact footprint occupies approximately half the bench space of traditional GC instruments or two-thirds of a standard GC/MS system when connected to an Agilent mass spectrometer
- small, precision-engineered air bath oven enables rapid temperature increases up to 300 °C/min and rapid cool-down for fast response times and high throughput
- built-in intelligence monitors system status, alerts users to potential problems before they occur, and provides guided troubleshooting
- available with a split/splitless, multimode, purged pack, or cool on-column inlet to meet most method requirements
- compatible with Agilent single or triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, flame ionization detector (FID), or thermal conductivity detector (TCD)
- uses familiar consumables and software, minimizing method development, startup, and training time. It accepts the same five-inch capillary or metal-packed column format used with the 6850
- GC
Touchscreen lets you view system configuration, update the active method, perform routine maintenance, and check instrument status
- browser interface lets you remotely access the GC from anywhere using a laptop or mobile device to monitor methods, perform diagnostics, and more
- unique top-opening lid lifts the column off the oven, allowing convenient access to inlet and detector connections, while easy-open side panels let you reach key internal components when needed.
